One is the fuzzy multiobjective optimization model (FMOM) which is developed based on fuzzy theory, Bellman’s max-min decision and multiobjective optimization. Another is the game-theory multiobjective optimization model (GMOM) based on the game theory, Nash equilibrium and multiobjective optimization. Both of them are implemented to support decision making process for balancing economic and environmental paradox in reservoir watershed management. Particularly in this study, FMOM is used as an alternative tool for analyzing strategic interaction between economic development (land use and development) and environmental protection (water-quality protection and eutrophication control) in the watershed management which is involving vague and imprecise information related to data, model formulation, and the decision maker’s preferences. On the other hand, GMOM is applied in the process of multiobjective programming and to find the optimization solutions efficiently. The two models are illustrated in a problem of sustainable management for reservoir watersheds. Results show that the analysis of economic and environmental balance within watershed management can be easily interpreted to aid the decision maker for watershed management.
