The research was carried out by means of using questionnaires, and its targets were national as well as private high school students in Chiayi City and Country. The research analyzed all the information by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson’s product-moment correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. The major findings were as follows. First of all, high school students’ sense of well-being tended to be above the average. Second, female high school students felt more sense of well-being than their male counterparts. Third, twelfth-graders felt more sense of well-being than eleventh-graders, while eleventh-graders felt more sense of well-being than tenth-graders. Fourth, family structures did not influence high school students’ sense of well-being. Fifth, there were significant positive correlation among conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, openness to experience and sense of well-being. But there was significant negative correlation of neuroticism and sense of well-being. Sixth, there was significant positive correlation of high school students’ school life adjustment and their sense of well-being. Seventh, high school students’ sense of well-being could be predicted by their personality traits and their school life adjustment. The self acceptance accounted for 60.5 percent of sense of well-being, followed by peer relationship, learning adjustment, conscientiousness, extraversion, and openness to experience. Finally, the research was conducted in hopes of doing something worthwhile to family education, school education as well as future research. 王以仁 2010 學位論文 ; thesis 128 zh-TW
