Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣師範大學 === 健康促進與衛生教育學系 === 98 === The purposes of this study were to investigate the background factors, self-esteem, depression, interpersonal relationship, hours of internet use, and internet addiction tendency among Junior High School Students in Taiwan. The subjects were Junior High School Students in Taipei County. By using proportional sampling method, 406 valid samples (response rate 97.3%) provided data with a self-administered questionnaire. Data was analyzed with independent-sample t test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation and multiple linear regression. The results of this research were summarized as follows. 1. There were significant differences in internet addiction in terms of the gender and academic achievements. The internet addiction tendency of male students is higher than that of female students. 2. There was not significant difference in internet addiction in terms of the grades. 3. Self-esteem were negatively associated with internet addiction tendency. 4. Real relationships were negatively associated with internet addiction tendency. Virtual relationship on the internet were positively associated with internet addiction tendency. 5. Depression were positively associated with internet addiction tendency. 6. Hours of internet use were positively associated with internet addiction tendency. 7. The background factors, self-esteem, depression, interpersonal relationship, hours of internet use could explain 58.5% variance of internet addiction tendency. Depression, hours of internet use, virtual relationship on the internet, gender and academic achievements are important factors.
