Thus, it is important to know the latest trend before purchasing new equipments. The coil generates MRI signals, improves imaging speed, advances shield power and safety, so the patent trend analysis of MRI coil provides valuable information for the investment decisions on medical equipment. In this study, Patent Guider is used to search and analyze the 528 patents of MRI coil in the U.S. patent database, including 384 coil manufactures technologies, 47 fill materials technologies, 18 compensate technologies, 5 wireless technologies and 74 shield technologies. The result shows that the GE Company leads in every aspect. Technical efficiency matrix shows that the MRI coil technologies have mainly focused on “improving signal reception and RF coil technology, which are already quite, mature. The interviews with the experts of the industry offer the insight of the future of MRI coil technology. That is to save time, to improve image quality, and to lighten materials.
