Path dependence analysis of community development: Example of three Communities in Minsyong Township

碩士 === 國立中正大學 === 政治學研究所 === 99 === 　　There are more than 6,000 Ｃommunity Ｄevelopment Ａssociations in Taiwan now, some of them because of positive feedback and can be self-reinforcing and sustainable development; However, some of them began to develop a good one but then deteriorated, even as locked-in the path dependence of negative feedback and recover. In order to find the path dependence of sustainable development of the community, In this thesis, qualitative research methods for different communities of the "interaction between public and private sectors", "community power structure" and "community development path dependency" for comparison and analysis, and Minsyong township “Sin-sin Community”, “Siang-rong Community” and “Tn-hua Community”were choosed for the research case. 　　The study found that: (1) The good public and private interaction lets the community easy obtain the external resources, a perfect volunteer system may reduce free-riding to happen, (2) The community's power structure and the interaction " of community harmony and sustainable development, Chairman and the village chief, if not to achieve " the two parties unite " or "cooperation and mutual assistance, must maintain at least at the degree of “does not disturb mutually” (3) "highly institutionalized"and "low political "let the community sustainable development, the " low-institutionalized "and " highly politicized "easy to let the community into a " drift ." 　　This study pointed out several recommendations for other rural communities engaged in community development work for future reference: (1) Community and the public sector should maintain intensive and good interaction, (2) Communities should establish and improve the volunteer system, (3) Voluntary organizations can play an active role in bridging capital, (4) Individuals who are interested in community work should exclude personal political benefits (5) Local History Workshop is an alternative to community development, and(6) Village-type communities may actively involved in "rural regeneration plan. "
