Description
Summary:碩士 === 中華大學 === 資訊管理學系碩士班 === 99 === English is an international and world-wide language so that the Ministry of Education made the Nine-year Integrated Curriculum of Taiwan and asked English to be taught in elementary schools. English becomes more and more important in our schools and in our lives. Learning English has become 「a movement among all ages」. Meanwhile the technique of computers and the Internet has developed so well and has changed the style of lives and as well ways of learning. Computer-assisted Language Learning (CALL) was first announced in 1960s、but it began a new field both for language learning and for program designing. Technique has become a great helper for language learning. This study is a survey of the willingness to use computer technology as a tool in English learning among junior high students. The first chapter is an introduction to the background and the purpose of the research、and the structure and process of the study. By using the software of English learning and the links of the Internet、students can learn anywhere and anytime、not only in the classroom. This research tried to analyze the factors which affect the junior high stuedents』 willingness to use the CALL software: the background of the students、the types and the contents of the software of CALL、perceived usefulness、perceived ease to use. And it also tried to find the relationship among the factors. A designed questionnaire was used to collect the data. The second chapter is about the history of teaching methods、the term of CALL、the environment of English learning in junior high schools in Taiwan、and a comparison of some English CALL software used in junior high. The third chapter is about the structure consisted of those factors above、the ways to check the reliability and the validity of the items、and the ways to analyze the data of the questionnaire. The fourth chapter is the findings of this survey: the higher grades in English the students got、the more willingness to use CALL they would have. The experience of using CALL is also a factor to influence the willingness to use it again. Both of the factors above also affect the perceived usefulness and perceived ease of using CALL in English learning. The last chapter makes a conclusion and some suggestions to the educators in junior high schools. In case teachers use CALL software and introduce it to students、students could have more concepts and willingness to use the software themselves and to learn by themselves.
