碩士 === 國立高雄師範大學 === 視覺設計學系 === 99 === Among all national parks in Taiwan, Kinmen National Park is unique because it is the only national park with true battlefield scenery, buildings containing complete Southern Fujian features, and rich historical sites. Along with bird ecology and diversity, the unique Wind Lion God belief, and literary and cultural legacy, the island is a national park for culture, ecology and history, and its tourism industry is the most prosperous among all frontier offshore islands. Also, apart from business activities, the mini three links have promoted the vigorous cultural, art and folk activity exchange between Kinmen and Xiamen. This study investigated the cultural image of Kinmen in terms of Panofsky’s Theory of Iconography. The cultural image questionnaire was designed to measure the cultural image understanding of Kinmen in locals, in order to find out the cultural image understanding difference between citizens and non-citizens of Kinmen. A contrastive study was conducted on people who have and have not visited Kinmen, in order to ascertain the cultural image understanding of Kinmen in the public. After further analysis, the results were linked up with the present development of the island’s culture and creative industries, in order to explore the application of cultural image to the island’s cultural creativity industries. The classified analyses of this study may be used as a reference for developing cultural and creative products. Lastly, this research hopes to provide a reference model for local cultural image research. The cultural image diversity discovered in the research provides comprehensive topics for future research on the development of culture and creative industries. Based on the research results, the three treasures of Kinmen are irreplaceable and ideal for developing into culture and creative industrial products. As other cultural images also have high developmental potential, it was rather difficult to analyze cultural images in iconological term at the beginning. After analyzing a few cultural images, however, the results proved that iconography provides high feasibility for cultural image analysis. Therefore, future researchers may consider the applicability of iconography when investigating the implications of other cultural images.
