The samples are the domestic commercial banks in Taiwan. The examination periods are from 1997 to 2009. Based on the review of the existing literature, this study employs the primary and secondary data to examine and analyze the diversification of bank Taiwan domestic commercial banks. This study is to examine the relationship between bank diversification and performance. Furthermore, this study also investigates the role of the corporate governance on bank performance and diversification policy. The results show that high shareholdings of board directors or high deviation between voting rights and cash flow rights exists entrenchment effect on bank diversification.
