Description
Summary:碩士 === 朝陽科技大學 === 工業設計系碩士班 === 100 === The fireplace is an ancient European and American heating facility, an important aspect formed by European and American life culture, and an important part of European and American home decor design. The fireplace is not a product limited to Europe and the United States. It was discovered early in Beijing’s Changping District Nanshao Township that in the Xia dynasty culture site, China long had a fireplace culture. The fireplace in the West already has a few thousand years of history. Due to the cold climate factors in European and American countries, the use of a fireplace is very common. However, in an era of progress, the use of fireplaces has changed from a simple heating device, into providing a home warming atmosphere, functioning to alleviate pressure, and entering into a romantic and poetic reverie. Thus, many people in the European and American area will install fireplaces in their living rooms and garden areas to provide a warm atmosphere, and to relief pressure through the process of watching the ornamental flames. Taiwan, located in subtropical Asia, with long term hot and mild climate, have very small market demands for fireplaces. This study uses rotating flame products as a development basis, integrated water landscaping design, utilized the two elements of fire and water as product design concept, and integrated furniture concepts, all hoping to introduce the idea of balance between fire and water, producing practical functioning furniture, and create products with the ability to bring out both the imagery of fire and water. This study introduced computer assisted design to improve design efficiency, and effectively simulate the pattern of the concept, using rotating flame’s characteristics plus water flow to design furniture with practical uses. The research method and structure introduces case example designs, and then through the research process, explore product design combination under different environments. Then it uses environmental factor settings to add furniture design concepts to the product, so that during the use process, it will provide views of fire and water, and provide a furniture function for dinner and gatherings. Through this study, it is discovered that this design concept has the ability to manufacture atmosphere, and also have a practical use, allowing fire and water landscaping to have an additional position value.
