Summary:碩士 === 銘傳大學 === 教育研究所碩士班 === 100 === The purpose of this study is to examine the process of education reform in Grade 1-9 curriculum policy and to find out its influence on English education; it also intended to analyze the development of English Teacher training, and the background of supplementary measures and the related policies. Finally, results are provided and suggestions offer as a reference for future. The purposes of the study were as follows: 1. To understand the intentions of English Education of Grade 1-9 Curriculum. 2. To figure out the policies and measurements of Grade 1-9 Curriculum. The fundings were as follows: 1. English Education of Grade 1-9 Curriculum entails not only the relationship between teachers and students, but also the students’ inerests in learning. 2. The abilities of listening, speaking, reading and writing are the goals of English learning in both Junior High Curriculum Standards and Grade 1-9 Curriculum Guidelines. 4. Foreign teachers not only help improve the local teachers to upgrade, but also improve the English learning environment. 5. On the contrast to well-performed teaching,it is not easy for foreign teachers to manage classes and misunderstandings between them and Chinese English teachers might happen easily. 6. The English Education program of Grade 1-9 Curriculum is well-designed but the system of standardized asessment disadvantages it. 7. The government has tried hard to improve the English Education to the minority and the ones in rural areas, but the system of standardized asessment disadvantages it 8. Level-by-level English Education System is required to be formed in Grade 1-9 Curriculum Guidelines. In the conclusion, concrete suggestions are made as reference for schools, administratives, teachers or those who are interested in doing research on Grade 1-9 Curriculum in the future.
