Their rise or fall relate to the electronic industry very much. Due to the decay of global economy and the low barrier of entrance of this industry, many companies have entered this industry. The research of this research is an owner of a software company – the E company. But it is not an ordinary software company, it develop the software specific for the PCB manufacturers. Products of this company are not like other soft wares, they can be seen as an invisible equipment of PCB manufacturer. They are combined with the manufacturing equipment as CAD/CAM to enhance the quality and efficiency of production. The market of this special type of software used to be dominated by a huge Israeli company – the O company. The E company is one of the SMEs in Taiwan, it has focused on local market. Recently, the products of the O company have changed radically. It announced that the latest version of its products is no longer compatible with all the previous versions. Additional, it will no longer support and maintain the previous versions of software. We found it an opportunity the catch the customers who are not willing to pay lots of money to transfer to a new version of software. But we do not know how the customers think exactly. This has become the motivation of this research. We want to investigate what do the customer think about the competition between the E company and the O company. And we hope the result of this research can become the competitive strategy of the E company. This research uses both secondary data and questionnaires, the result of this research suggests the strategic plan of a PCB software company facing international competition.
