This study used case study research methods and collected data using interview survey techniques. The research participants were 16 faculty or staff of H elementary school. The research tool was the interview guideline “Research Regarding the Principal’s Leadership Style and Organizational Health” designed by this study. Spanning 18 months, this study collected 16 interview transcripts and derived the following conclusions: 1. The principal of H elementary school performed six paternalistic leadership styles, namely, “hidden personal intentions,” “personal interaction distance,” “harmonious interpersonal relationships,” “rewarding of trusted or favorite workers,” “active political operation,” and “establishment of personal prestige.” The principal’s behaviors corresponded with the explanations of relevant theories. 2. Regarding organizational health, H elementary school performed well in five dimensions, namely, “leadership sharing and learning,” “team work skills,” “organizational atmosphere,” “organizational cohesiveness,” and “member contribution levels,” which are consistent with explanations of relevant theories. 3. The six categories of the principal’s leadership style at H elementary school, namely, “hidden personal intentions,” “personal interaction distance,” “harmonious interpersonal relationships,” “rewarding of trusted and favorite workers,” “active political operation,” and “establishment of personal prestige,” were positively correlated with organizational health. 4. The principal’s leadership style at H elementary school was influenced by variables such as the principal’s gender, position, age, ethnicity, family, areas with a majority of indigenous residents, and small-scale schools; however, the principal’s leadership style was not influenced by the variable of members’ backgrounds. Organizational health was influenced by environmental variables such as areas with a majority of indigenous residents and small-scale schools. Based on these conclusions, this study proposes several suggestions for practical applications and future research directions.
