Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立高雄第一科技大學 === 運籌管理研究所 === 100 === When contemporary management focus has been shifted from physical distribution to supply chain management, purchasing is no longer viewed just as functional but more strategical. However, past research about strategic purchasing primarily focused on its influence on buyer-seller relationships. The role of strategic purchasing between conflicts and conflict managents has not been discussed. A dynamic viewpoint with three stages - shadow of the past, interaction process, and performance outcomes - is introduced in the conflict management process. Under this viewpoint, relationships among conflicts (including functional and dysfunctional), strategic purchasing, conflict management (including competing, accommodating, compromising, avoiding, and collaborating), and supplier integration are investigated. With data gathered by the questionnaires and by applying Multiple Regression Analysis, following results are found. First, functional conflicts exert negative impacts on strategic purchasing. Second, strategic purchasing exercises positive effects on both competing and collaborating conflict managements. Third, both competing and collaborating conflict managements have significantly positive influence on supplier intergration. Finally, strategic purchasing also has significantly positive impacts on supplier integration. Based on these findings, several advices are provided for purchasing professionals to deal with conflict conditions with their suppliers.
