It also explained the reason why they made the mistakes, trying to give some useful advice to Mandarin teaching. This thesis analyses the mono- syllabic Chinese words which are pronunciated by Indian investigated speakers. They are analysed in contants, vowels and tones and compared with Hindi language system. The main results of this thesis are as follows: The rate of correction inㄘ is the lowest,ㄗ is lower, ㄑ和ㄈare much lower. The rate of correction in vowel ㄩ is the lowest and in tones the third tone is the most difficult of the four tones, the second one is the second difficult to it, the fourth are of the third difficulty, and the first tone is the easiest one. Their learning ability of Chinese speech sounds is affected by their learning environment, language style, auditory ability, etc. This thesis hope can make certain contribution to Indians Chinese intonation teaching research.
