Description
Summary:碩士 === 大葉大學 === 教育專業發展研究所 === 101 === The main purpose of this thesis is to find the key influential factors and differentiate respective varieties of Taiwanese students’ literacy performances in PISA 2009. It follows from the mechanism of regression analysis that mathematical literacy is influenced primarily by ‘Control Strategy’; while both scientific and reading literacy are influenced primarily by ‘Read Attitude’. For further study on reading literacy, cluster analysis is employed to categorize variables induced by the student questionnaire data file concerning ‘Read Attitude’, and the required categories are also identified and ranked in the sense of influential significance by the help of regression model again. Moreover, one may apply neural networks to extract the more significant ones from participants’ family background variables highly associated with ‘Read Attitude’. In the sequel, literacy performances of students with different family backgrounds are investigated. The main results of this study are as follows: (A) According to the classification of the student questionnaire data file concerning ‘Read Attitude’, the concentrated or engagement attitude is the most influential factor on students’ literacy performance. (B) Among all family background variables, ‘Sex’, ‘Highest Parental Education in Years’, and ‘Home Possessions’ highly affect the enjoyment of reading. (C) There is an interaction between ‘Highest Parental Education in Years’ and ‘Home Possessions’ , which have a positive impact on reading literacy.
