People tend to reserve “get rid of the old to make way for the new” type of unusual thought about those past and traditional old things and objects. With that type of thought in mind, those old buildings and things are often considered as objects for reformation in progress of city''s advancement. This turns them into new houses with no cultural features nor historical memories. In this thesis, “Stack-Ups; Torn-Downs - Tetris, In search of Symbols in the City from Time and Space Perspectives”, with personal painting works as main subject, its image represents Taiwan traditional buildings and contemporary buildings. For a long time, different buildsings display different environments and consciousness; furthermore, with attempts to find new thoughts and perspectives amongst many building types. Experimenting new techniques in Ink Paintings in order for constructing impressive composition formats; moreover, with expectataion to transmit citizens'' retrospecting and educating features for “traditional buildings” and elevating painting skills so as to create works with personal features. This study explores, from experiencing traditional consciousness in living environment, ink expressions for present residential space images. By emphasizing differences of ink expressions, it shows images for reserving traditional buildings and urban innovation. In addition, it also shows, with constantly expansion and excessively torn-downs for buildings at this time, and with tetris game''s perspective to reserve traditional buildings and provide new thoughts for innovation; furthermore, re-consider respect for tradition and importace of its existence.
