Furthermore, the receptivity of the course among the students in the elememtary school was taken under consideration in order to explain whether the result was in accordance with the efficiency of the somatic movement education and whether the course was suitable for school instruction. In addition, the tutor could acquire professional growth by teaching reflection during the process of the research. This research not only compared the basic ideas of Somatics with the course objectives of arts and humanities field, but also incorporated the courses of arts and humanities with somatic movement education according to competence indicators from Taiwan Ministy of Education, and the feasibility of this course would be tested by the process of this action research. The course had the duration of twelve weeks with 26 middle grades students in the elementary school as target group. The teaching contents had been constantly improved by means of the methods of action research with the collected data, such as the daily notes of self-introspections, students’ feedback sheet, observer’s report and students’ works. The results were as following: 1.The program was designed according to the arts and humanities meaning, and could achieve the competence indicators planed. 2.This course was suitable for the middle grades students in the elementary school, included breathing exploration, body mapping, creative movement education, and body awareness. 3.The course had been well received by the students. 4.The program could promote not only students’ body development, but also the ability of body dynamic performance from students’ works. 5.Understanding the importance of sufficient experience time, teaching guide, and proper teaching pace, the researcher was able to gain lots of teaching experience and professional growth in the teaching.
