Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣大學 === 應用力學研究所 === 101 === In this thesis we used SUNTANS(Fringer et al., 2006) to simulate hydrodynamics at the Kaohsiung harbor. SUNTANS is a three-dimensional, nonhydrostatic model which solves the Navier-Stoke equations with the Boussinesq approximation on the unstructured, z-level grid. We used SMS(Surface-water Modeling System) to generate the unstructured grid for the Kaohsiung harbor and transformed the grid data to the format that can be used in SUNTANS. We used four different boundary conditions to evaluate the grid quality, and computation stability. The simulation was compared with the tidal data that was observed at the Kaohsiung tidal station. Then we discussed the relation between the flow field and the surface height caused by different boundary conditions. The ultimate goal is to develop a high-resolution 3D model to predict the influence of the storm surge to the Kaohsiung harbor as well as to provide proper boundary conditions to the inundation model for inland areas. Key words: storm surge, SUNTANS, nunstructured-grid, Kaohsiungharbor, three- dimensional numerical model.
