That also influences the quality of space and its spatial structural adjustment. At the same time, the formerly cultural images disappear gradually in the city. To achieve the goal of sustainable operation, the disappearing historical memory once again been set off by repurposing of the unused space, and to restore the unused Japanese-style residence, and outsourcing is the most commonly managing type for the operation.   The Mayor Salon is the main researching target. To discuss the cognition for the repurposing of Japanese-style residence, managing type for operation, analysis of the environment impact, post-occupancy evaluation and characteristics of user are five main perspectives for the discussion. The result could be used for the reference for future related cases study and promoting the benefit of management.   We found the Mayor Salon is an example of outsourcing operations and self-financing, and its management towards diversification, such as venue rental, arts curriculum, and tree-climbing experiencing camp, café, and merchandising for creative art goods. The main space usages are café and performing arts, and café is the main source for operating income. Based on the analysis of the survey shows that people does not against Mayor Salon involved in the commercialization for operating use of the space. The older people had higher interest for arts curriculum in the salon.
