Summary: | 碩士 === 大葉大學 === 教育專業發展研究所 === 102 === The main purposes of this study were to explore (1) the difference of background variables among self-esteem, gender role attitude, and body image of the fifth and sixth grade students; (2) the correlation among self-esteem, gender role attitude, and body image;(3)prediction of self-esteem and gender roles attitude toward body image. The 569 students are from fifth and sixth grade in Nantou County. All data were analyzed by Descriptive Statistics, Independent Sample t-test, Pearson Correlation, and Multiple Regression. The main results are as follows:
1.There is no significant difference on self-esteem between two genders.
2.There is significant difference on gerder role attitude between grades, and girl’s gender role attitude is more flexible than the boy’s.
3.Boys are better than girls in the appearance, and girls are better than boys in dressing up and appearance orientation. However, no significant difference is found in overall body image.
4.There are significant difference between grades on self-esteem and body image, and no significant difference between grades in gender role attitude.
5. Self-esteem and gender role attitude have a positive correlation. Gender role attitude and body image "appearance evaluation", "appearance orientation" have a negative correlation. But thereis no significant correlation between "dressing appearance" and gender role attitude. Self-esteem and body image have a positive correlation.
6.Self-esteem and gender role attitude could predict body image to a degree.
