Description
Summary:碩士 === 逢甲大學 === 景觀與遊憩碩士學位學程 === 102 === Taiwan High Speed Rail is one of the elements for the development of local tourism industry. Whether the greening environment around the station area is good or not could be an indicator for users to perceive their environment quality. This study collected 37 vegetation pictures of roadsides, ground surface areas around Taichung Station of Taiwan High Speed Rail as the basis of the questionnaire to survey user’ satisfaction on each picture by means of convenient sampling approach. The major study purpose is to analyze the performance of vegetation in the station area. The study results of roadsides greenification showed that the respondents were satisfied the most with road greening, where is a combination of flowers, bush and trees, while satisfied the least with none vegetation at all along the roadside. Secondly, they were satisfied the most with the combination of flowers and bush of the traffic island areas, while satisfied the least with concrete and grass only in traffic islands. Thirdly, they were satisfied the most with flower and grass along the sidewalks, while the station building with tree clusters in containers would get visitors to perceive the highest satisfaction, but the lowest satisfaction without planting any vegetation in ladder areas; parking lots with green landscaping of shrub planting on their lanes would receive visitors the highest satisfaction, while the lowest satisfaction without planting any vegetation. Respondents showed the highest satisfaction on the shaped flowers and scattered deciduous trees, the lowest satisfaction on ladder areas without any vegetation; parking lots with shrubs planted to obtain the highest satisfaction along green lanes, while the irregular tree shapes and round evergreen trees had the lowest satisfaction. In addition, respondents’ social economic backgrounds, such as: education levels, degree to contact nature, monthly income and living places may lead to significantly differences in their satisfaction on vegetation styles along roadside areas, traffic islands and sidewalks, respectively. According to the study results, the study would practically suggest that a combination of flowers, grass, bush and trees may be a better approach for roadside vegetation planning to enhance residents and travelers’ satisfaction in the THSR Taichung Station areas, while avoiding the none or single species vegetation planning policy could be a popular policy. The study results may provide vegetation management agency with a reference to understand the influence factors of roadside greening environment as well as to help improve roadside vegetation planning.
