The effects of the phase difference, the configuration, and the elevation of the piezoelectric fan pair and the dimensions of the heat sinks are discussed. The experimental results show that the lowest thermal resistance is obtained when the fin width is 8 mm, the piezoelectric fan pair is in edge to edge configuration and vibrates in counter phase for the series of heat sinks with fin number of 9 and fin height of 15 mm. The lowest thermal resistance is obtained when the fin width is 5.1 mm, the piezoelectric fan pair is in edge to edge configuration and vibrates in counter phase for the series of heat sinks with fin number of 16 and fin height of 30 mm. The thermal resistance increases dramatically when the elevation of the piezoelectric fan pair increases. The phase difference and the configuration of the piezoelectric fan pair have different effects on the heat sinks of different dimensions. However, for most heat sinks the thermal resistance is lowest when the piezoelectric fan pair is in edge to edge configuration and vibrates in counter phase.
