In order to prevent the new nurses quitting the job from the hospital easily, we have to train some preceptors to help them. However, a preceptor can''t be a good model of new nurses until she has professional ability and knows how to teach new nurses properly and learn from the clinical experience well. In addition, a preceptor is not only a nurse but also a teacher, we have to test their performance by two standards to make sure if they are qualified.
In order to give the hospital an appropriate way to measure the qualified preceptor, the researcher decided to develop the efficient Scale of Nursing Performance of Preceptor. According to the American Nurses Association (ANA), the researcher made a test with 50 questions about nursing standard to measure 200 experienced nurses to see if the test is efficient.
The result shows that the difficulty of the questions of the test is moderate and the discrimination of the test is good. In the meanwhile the researcher created two measuring systems that not only changed the traditional Method of Assessment but also can be used for Human Resources Management.
