Summary:碩士 === 國立中興大學 === 高階經理人碩士在職專班 === 102 === In accordance with “Star Rating Assessment Guidelines” published by Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) on February 16, 2009, this study aims to select international tourist hotels and hotel agents which are involved in the assessment as research subjects, and to discuss whether one-star to five-star hotel agents produced from star rating assessment mechanism and items of international tourist hotel star rating assessment truly consider these indices do meet requirements of international tourist hotel industry in Taiwan? And the encouragement by Taiwan Tourism Bureau for agents to participate in star rating assessment in order to bring actual benefits, such as increase of average accommodation price after rated as five-star, the improvement of brand fame as to earn foreign revenue, to increase domestic employment in order to raise the fame of Taiwan in international community or to bring more actual revenue performance for hotel agents? There are various types in hotel industry, and the objective of star rating assessment is to define clear status and type for hotel agents so that consumers could select the most suitable hotel type. All these issues are worth of discussion by government and hotel agents. The methodology of focus group interview is adopted to invite 30 hotel managers from hotel star rating assessment accreditation for interview, to induce analysis conclusion and propose advice. This study aims to comprehend whether assessing star rating hotels have actual performance on hotel star rating assessment accreditation, to obtain relevant indices from research analysis and conclusion that are more related to hotel needs and cost of investment in order to provide references for hotel administrators in star rating assessment accreditation as well as effective references for future amendments by government agencies.
