But Taiwan’s well-known enterprises have detonated the issues of environment and food security. It lead to more and more public pay attention to corporate social responsibility. Therefore, this study used twenty listed companies in food industry as samples, and reference to foreign literature to develop indicators of corporate social responsibility and corporate governance. Four business performance was analyzed through following variables including return on equity (ROE), return on asset (ROA), earnings per share (EPS) and Tobin’s q, and measure the effects of corporate social responsibility and corporate governance on firm value in Food Industry. After listed companies in food industry began pay attention to corporate social responsibility, the empirical results show that firms manufacture additional cost from do actions of social responsibility and have problems of potential development agency lead to reduce accounting performance. All in all, the behavior of social responsibility is good for establishing a good corporate image, and it can create benefits for the company. On the other hand, from the perspective of corporate governance, listed companies in Taiwan food industry comply with Conflict of Interest Hypotheses proposed by Jensen and Ruback(1983). The board can’t stick to objectivity and impartiality when performing oversight functions. It should be independent directors and audit committee as soon as possible.
