However, the effect of this teaching method has not been thoroughly evaluated. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effect of the integration of the digital archive resources into the grade 6 elementary level science teaching on their cognitive learning achievement as well as the enhancement of their science learning attitudes toward the mysteries of the earth unit. This empirical study lasted about a month and included 100 sixfth graders from four classes. Among them, two classes were randomly assigned to the experimental group, receiving Digital Archive Resources Instruction (DARI) in which digital archive resources served as supplementary teaching materials and were used in the mysteries of the earth unit teaching. The rest two classes were in the control group, in which General Model Instruction (GMI) was implemented and no digital resources were used. After the thirteen periods of instruction, a self-made achievement test and an science learning attitude questionnaire were implemented to measure the students’learning achievement as well as their science learning attitude toward the taught mysteries of the earth unit of sixth grade science. The scores of both were collected and the data were analyzed via one-way analysis of covariance (ANCOVA). There is a significant difference in the mysteries of the earth unit Cognition Test, and six items which are the power of flowing water, rivers terrain, coastal terrain, rock, mineral, and soil formation and utilization in the Test constitute the significance. But there is no significant difference in the Mysteries of the Earth Unit Science Attitudes Test. Therefore, digital archive resources are suitable to be integrated into mysteries of the earth unit teaching and to promote students science cognition in their science learning. Instructors teaching strategy is worth implementing. Jong-Pyng Chyuan 全中平 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 162 zh-TW
