Through death education we can learn how to accept death, further cherish the wonderful of present, live up to a satisfactory life, and have good attitudes to achieve fine life. This study is based on Si-Chi Chen’ s (2007) research data about good death, spiritual health, and attitudes towards life and death to investigate the relationship between attitudes of good death, life and its relevant factors. Quantitative research method was adoped in this research and the subjects consisted of students stratified random sampling and cluster sampling from one university of education in Taiwan. A total of 816 questionnaires were sent and 749 copies were reclaimed with 91.8% overall response rate. However, after examine the reclaimed copies, only 673 copies were effective with 82.5% effective response rate. SPSS statistical software was used to analyze the collected data by using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson product-moment correlation, multiple regression analysis and so on. The conclusions of the quantitative data analysis for this study are as follows: 1. Good death attitude is different among different background groups. Such as female students have higher average score than male students toward the attitude of good death; Senior students have more positive attitude toward good death; Students with religious belief have higher average score than students without any religious belief; Students who have taken life education courses has higher average score toward the attitude of good death. 2. Life attitude is different among different background groups. Such as female students have higher average score than male students toward the attitude of life; Religious belief has significant influence toward life attitude; Students who have experienced death in their family members have significant influence toward their life attitude. 3. There is a positive relationship between good death attitude and life attitudes of will to meaning, purpose of life, life control, and suffering acceptance. 4. There is a positive relationship between life attitude and good death attitudes of painless death, relaxed death, achieving ultimate reality during death, peaceful death, death in accordance with individual will, dying in bed of old age, and dying without a sickness. 5. There is a significant relationship between life attitude and death attitudes of achieving ultimate reality during death and relaxed death. 6. There is a significant relationship between good death attitude and life attitudes of will to meaning and suffering acceptance. Based on the above conclusions, this study can give some recommendations to life education planning in the university. Shi-Chi Chen 陳 錫 琦 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 178 zh-TW |
