Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣科技大學 === 電機工程系 === 102 === In this thesis, Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) with IEC 61850 communication protocol is presented and applied in the microgrid protective systems so that the microgrid can be under protected, either in the island mode or connected mode. In general, the microgrid system include time-varying load and distributed generation such as wind power system, solar systems, micro-turbine, etc. The load and distributed generation has naturely unstable characteristics. The topology of microgrid may change over time. The traditional up-stream/down-stream coordination approach and master/slave communication infrastructure cannot satisfy the operation requirement in microgrid. Real time peer to peer communication using adaptive protection concept can be used in microgrid protection architecture. A real time SCADA platform has been successfully set up and bases on IEC 61850 communication protocol. All of the IEDs in microgrid could be linked each other through the Ethernet. The platform can display the system information including power generation, power demand and network topology status. In addition, a Protection Management System (PMS) on SCADA platform has been proposed in this thesis. The major function of PMS determines IED protection setting based on system configuration and operation mode by logic configuration and GOOSE function that are configured in IED by users. Furthermore, fault location can be detected accurately and trip the related circuit breaker even if the short circuit capacity is insufficient.
