By analyzing the divergent perceptions of job stress and satisfaction among teachers with diverse backgrounds, this study was designed to explore the relationships between teachers’ job stress and satisfaction. Through the process of random sampling, the subjects of this study included 455 junior high school teachers in New Taipei City. The instrument of this study, including the questionnaires entitled “Job Stress Questionnaire and Job Satisfaction Questionnaire,” was distributed to the subjects. The data was then collected and analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA and Pearson correlation coefficients. The major findings of this research are summarized as follows: 1.Both the job stress and satisfaction of junior high school teachers in New Taipei City reached an average level. 2.There were significant differences for the junior high school teachers’ job stress, considering their diverse backgrounds in age, education level, position in the school, and seniority. As to the job satisfaction, there were significant differences in terms of the subjects’ education level and position in the school. 3.For the junior high school teachers in New Taipei City, there were significant positive correlations between job stress and job satisfaction. Based on the conclusions, this study further provides suggestions for junior high teachers, educational organizations, and future researchers.
