Summary: | 碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 藝術與人文教學研究所 === 103 === The purpose of this research is to gain an insight into the relation between junior high school students' learning satisfaction in performing arts and flow experiences. The researcher first looked into literature reviews to build theoretical foundation for this research. Secondly, the researcher devised a scale to discover the correlation between junior high school students' learning satisfaction in performing arts courses and flow experiences through referring to previous national and international researches. Questionnaires were then issued to collect data for the research. Students in Taoyuan municipal junior high schools were the research samples. Multistage sampling was involved in the research based on the school size. Schools were selected first by way of stratified random sampling, classes were then selected with cluster sampling. 720 questionnaires were given out in total with a response rate of 100%. Among all the questionnaires, 670 questionnaires (93%)were effective.
Findings resulted from the research are listed as follows:
1. Junior high school students' learning satisfaction in performing arts courses and flow experiences
•Junior high school students' learning satisfaction in performing arts courses was analyzed through five aspects: instruction, curriculum content, facilities, peer relationship and learning efficiency. The research revealed that students show high satisfaction in overall and within each criteria. “Instruction” was the most valued aspect among all.
•Flow experiences related to junior high school performing arts courses include the following eight aspects: challenge-skills balance, action-awareness merging, clear goals, unambiguous feedback, concentration at the task at hand, loss of self-conscious, transformation of time and autotelic experience. The overall results were mediocre. On the other hand, the pupil showed higher level in the aspects of challenge-skills balance, clear goals, unambiguous feedback and autotelic experience, with autotelic experience being the highest.
2. Different degrees of flow experience and learning satisfaction in performing arts courses shown in junior high school students of different background variables.
•In terms of junior high school students' learning satisfaction in performing arts courses, students of three different background variables have shown significant differences: school sizes, gender and the grades they are in.
•In terms of junior high school students' flow experiences in performing arts courses, students from schools of different sizes and those in different grades showed significant differences in their flow experiences, while students of different gender did not show any remarkable differences.
3. The relation between junior high school students' learning satisfaction in performing arts courses and flow experiences
The research revealed that there is high-positive correlation between Junior high school students' learning satisfaction in performing arts courses and their flow experiences. The correlation coefficient of each aspect in junior high school students' learning satisfaction in performing arts courses and flow experiences is extremely high. Learning effect has the highest correlation to flow experience.
In the last part, the researcher, based on the findings, proposed some suggestions to schools and performing arts teachers as well as future researchers.
