The rich design resources are contributed to the nature which experienced through the time of refinement. However, the current domestic definition of organic design is mostly emphasizing the styling and forgetting its original essence and semantics gradually. The design creation attempts to explore the source of life- “cells” as the original starting point of organic shape. By the new thinking model to define its nature and present an organic design flow as product design reference. It raises other possibilities to the minimalist design trend nowadays. The design creation discusses from the origins and definition of organic design through its development in design history, and to the related reference in cell biology. Methods discussed in current creation of organic design and other related reference, and comparison of organic designers to explore the differences in design approach and the elements in use to develop an applicable organic design flow for product design. The result of the design creation performs 3 works to exam the usability of products designed for the use of organic shapes in the cells as creation elements. There are: (1) Cube Vase Series. The concept is inspired by the process of deformation produced in cells during cell division, which imports the splitting phase into design approach. (2) Cell Light. By manipulating the running track of chromosome inside the cell to design a floor lamp. (3)Circle of Life. A chandelier design with various lighting, which utilizes the geometric pattern generated when the number of columns in the cell division. Jin-Dean Cheng 鄭金典 2014 學位論文 ; thesis 116 zh-TW
