We investigate the effect of harmonic current and voltage drop in variety load with diversity of TSS (Traction Supply Substation) power system in various operating conditions. The purpose is to evaluate the necessity of the transient variety load in light rail system power quality analysis. Because of the computer power increase, more accurate calculation of light rail system become practical. We pioneered the method of power quality analysis include variety load and compute accurate per second. We need to recognize the harmonic in power system and voltage drop in each TSS so we use the Dan Hai Light Rail Transit as an example. It simulates the transient variety load of TSS power system in order to take the snapshot of harmonic current with professional program. This research with simulations shows one thing. It suggests that a new power system design of MRT should consider the loads of diversity in order to achieving more accurate result.
