In this study, Motivation Scale, Benefits Leisure Scale, and Happiness Scale are being used to survey the road runners who participated in Chiayi Dual Pond Marathon, Xinshe Sakura Marathon, Tainan Historical Capital International Marathon, and Mt. Bagua Terrace Marathon.   The questionnaire was conducted by means of convenience sampling, with 400 questionnaires and received 378 copies, the received rate is 94.5%. In this study, several statistical methods were used for data analyzing, and the followings were found: 1. the analysis of current situation of the motivation of the participants to participate in the road race, leisure benefits, and happiness: (1) current participant motivation: the overall average is above median and each aspect ranking from high to low is “healthy relieve of stress ” and “social support.” (2) current leisure benefits: the overall average is above median and each aspect ranking from high to low is “the benefits of mind” and “social interaction benefits.” (3) current happiness benefits: the overall average is above median and each aspect ranking from high to low is “self-confidence,” “self-approval” and “ life-satisfaction.” 2. Partial participants with different background have significant differences in terms of motivation, leisure benefits, and happiness. 3. the analysis of the motivation of the participants to participate in the road race, leisure benefits, and happiness: (1) The motivation of the participants shows positive correlation with leisure benefits. (2) The motivation of the participants does not show positive correlation with happiness. (3) The leisure benefits show positive correlation with happiness. 4. Suggestions: (1) to design an appropriate route and theme for women (2) to enhance motivation, strengthen leisure benefits and happiness (3) be able to increase sample size or further analysis of mediator
