Abstract
The purpose of this research was to discuss the relation between participation motivation, environment preference, and happiness of family campers. This study conducted a survey by questionnaire method. The participants were the families who camped in Lao Guan Dao Leisure Farm camping area in Dahu, Miaoli. In total, 400 questionnaires were distributed. The return rate was 100% and all questionnaires were valid. The data analysis and comparison were conducted by descriptive statistics, Independent-Sample T Test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé method and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Coefficient. The study found out that in participation motivation and happiness, there were no significant differences among campers who came from different social background and with various leisure behaviors. There were positive correlations between participation motivation and environment preference, environment preference and happiness, and also participation motivation and happiness. Therefore, by arranging camping activities, not only can all kinds of family campers spend time with their family and hang out friends, but they also enjoy the outdoor life to obtain happiness.
