Summary:碩士 === 國立屏東大學 === 教育行政研究所 === 104 === The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between the leadership styles of principals and the organizational climate of Elementary schools in Taichung City. Furthermore, it explores the perceptions of teachers from different backgrounds on these two topics. This study also aims to explore the possible correlation between the relationship between the leadership of principals and the organizational climate of Elementary schools in Taichung City. This study was a qualitative research study and was conducted through a survey questionnaire. The participants were teachers of Elementary schools in Taichung City and selected by stratified sampling. 432 survey questionnaires were given out but only 405 were collected and amongst them only 380 were completed and selected for analysis. The results were analysed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS). The results of this research are as follows: 1.The most common leadership style of principalsperceived by the Elementary school teachers was the “accommodating type”. 2.The perceptions of the teachers on the leadership styles of principals were influenced by age, numbers of years of teaching, position of the teacher and the number of classes in their respective schools. 3.The most common type of organizational climate in Elementary schools was “open climate”. 4.The perceptions of the teachers on the organizational climate of Elementary schools were influenced by gender, age, numbers of years of teaching and the number of classes in their respective schools. 5.The leadership styles of principals are highly correlated with the organizational climate of the Elementary schools. 6.The different leadership styles of principals can be used to predict the organizational climate of the Elementary schools. Lastly, based on the above findings, suggestions for improvements are included in this study ans serves as a reference for the relevant Educational Organizations, Elementary school principals or other future studies.
