碩士 === 國立中山大學 === 政治學研究所 === 104 === The mode of U.S.-China interactive and diplomatic relations on the international platform is a high-profile issues on international relations. This thesis is focus on “A new model of relations between great powers” for China and U.S., and explores its possibility through understanding the two side competition and cooperation on the Asia-Pacific region in recent years. The U.S. strategic layout about “Rebalance of Asia” is come from three dimensions, namely diplomacy of Forward-deployment on politics, and establishing the Asia-Pacific economic and trade mechanisms through “Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement” as well as deploying more military power in Asia-Pacific region. Given this U.S. containment policy, China actively spreads its concept about “peaceful rise”, and proposes the concept of “the new model of relations between great powers” for Sino-America interaction. Under this guidance China is trying to use surrounding diplomacy to reduce distrust of Asian countries for its renaissances, and participate in the “Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership” to expanding economic and trade fields, which is centered on ASEAN. In the military dimension, China strengthen naval forces for defending its national interests in “overseas stakeholder’s zone”, among others. All these ideas and strategies of China and those of the U.S. will be examined in this thesis.
