It can interfere with leaning basic skills and decelerate students study at schools, especially nonverbal learning disabilities, such as emotion recognition, misperception, and attention distraction, may cause more difficulties both within and outside the classrooms. Statistically, students with learning disabilities are the most populated among students with special needs in past few years, but less investigation has been conducted. Based on this reason, this study intervened 10-weeks orienteering programs on 6 junior high students with learning disabilities, aimed to investigate how orienteering programs within resource classroom may affect students’ self-concepts and further provide more teaching strategies. The grounded theory approach was adopted to analyze data from observation and in-depth interview, and the following conclusion was obtained: First, this study revealed the in-depth context of self-concept problems among students with learning disabilities; Then, the intervention of orienteering programs brought positive impact on students’ self-esteem, emotion control, and further improved interpersonal relationship and learning attitude.
