Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺南大學 === 應用數學系碩士班 === 104 === This study aimed at exploring the performance of the sixth grade students of elementary school in fraction additioin and subtraction operations in Tainan City. The study, moreover, aimed at exploring the differences of the performances in fraction addition and subtraction operations for students of different genders. The 262 students were chosen from three elementary schools in Tainan City. The instruments of the study were self-written tests on the subject of fraction addition and subtraction operations. The main findings are as follows: 1.Tainan City sixth grade students’correct rate of fraction addition and subtraction operations in the same denominator is eighty percent, and the students’correct rate of fraction addition and subtraction operations in the different denominator (coprime) is seventy percent. Finally, the students’correct rate of fraction addition and subtraction operations in the different denominator (non-prime) is sixty-five percent. We get that Tainan City sixth grade students need to be strengthened when fraction addition and subtraction operations in the different denominator (non-prime). 2.The performance of fraction addition and subtraction operations in the same denominator for students of different genders:the performances for students of different genders were significant in this types of operations, the girls performed significantly better than the boys. III 3.The performance of fraction addition and subtraction operation in different denominator (coprime) for students of different genters:the performances for students of different genders were no significant in this types of operations. 4.The performance of fraction addition and subtraction operations in different denominator (non-prime) for students of different genders:the performances for students of different genders were no significant in this types of operations.
