Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 兒童英語教育學系碩士班 === 104 === The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of cloud-based learning system on the elementary school children’s vocabulary knowledge. This study was conducted in a primary school involving 38 fifth grade students from two intact classes. One class with nineteen students received electronic English picture book instruction through online learning system via iPad and the other class of nineteen students served as the control group receiving the same instruction without using the cloud-based learning system. The treatment was administrated for 6 weeks, 40 minutes per week. A quasi-experimental design was adopted, and the data was collected through pre- and post- English vocabulary tests, and a learning-perception questionnaire for the experimental group. The results of the ANCOVA indicated that the experimental group significantly outperformed the control group on the vocabulary posttest. The results of the questionnaire showed that the participants in the experimental group had positive perceptions toward the learning activities using the cloud-based learning system and thought the system positively helped them learn target English vocabulary, lowered their anxiety of learning, and gave them a sense of achievement.
