Students must be guided by their teachers in order to learn through reading. Action research was adopted in this study, the research participants included the research (as the teacher) and the fourth graders. The study is aimed to investigate “integrating summarization strategy into teaching reading of the fourth grader Chinese lessons” and how it influences the students summarizing ability. Through teacher’s observation records, reflection diary, students’ worksheets, the result of students’ summarization assessment, the survey and so on, the researcher analyzes and generalizes the research result, thinks of the resolution of the teaching problems and offers the suggestion for the integrating summarization strategy into Chinese teaching and the study findings of this research can be served as the reference for teaching and studies. The study conclusion of this eight-week action research may be briefly stated as follows: 1. The summarization strategy integrating into the analysis of the story grammar construction could help students’ know how to summarize. 2. The summarization strategy integrating into the teaching reading of the fourth grader Chinese lessons could improve students’ summarization ability. 3. The summarization strategy integrating into the teaching reading of the fourth grader Chinese lessons could enhance students' interest and confidence in summary. 4. The summarization strategy integrating into the analysis of the story grammar construction into the process of the teaching reading of the fourth grader Chinese lessons could enhance teachers’ professional teaching skills that is a positive feasible teaching mode.
