Description
Summary:碩士 === 臺北市立大學 === 運動器材科技研究所 === 104 === Purpose: To investigate the effects of the novel additional elastic hip flexor band on angle, angular velocity, locomotion performance and ground reaction force at comfortable and fastest walking in elderly. Method: Twenty healthy elderly, 65-74 years old, voluntary participated in this study. Each subjects randomly wore the novel additional elastic hip flexor band with non-stretched, 50% elongation and 100% elongation to walk three time at comfortable and fastest walking. The Motion Analysis System and AMTI force plate were used to measure kinematic and kinetic parameters during gait. The gait cycle for analysis was defined as right heel touch the force plate to touch the ground again after three steps. The repeated measures two-way ANOVA was used to compare all kinematic and kinetic parameters at different walking speeds. Results: Elderly who wore the additional elastic hip flexor band with 50% elongation and 100% elongation had greater maximum hip flexion angle and maximum hip angular velocity than those wore with non-stretched (p<.05). Elderly who wore the additional elastic hip flexor band with 100% elongation had higher toe elevated than that wore with non-stretched (p<.05). However, step length, step time, step speed and step rate were not significant difference among three wearing conditions(p>.05). Conclusion: Elderly who wore the additional elastic hip flexor band increased hip flexion angle, hip angular velocity and toe elevation, but it also caused hip extension angle. The findings suggested that the novel additional elastic hip flexor band might advantage the elderly to cross the threshold, go upstairs, and get on the buses and other daily activities. It might further reduced the risk of fall.
