| Summary: | 碩士 === 國立成功大學 === 建築學系碩士在職專班 === 105 === This paper explores the relationship between the only watersupply facilities and urban development in Taichung City. To the status of the source of water supply as a starting point, put forward the importance of preservation of historical buildings, and to give the vitality of space regeneration, to respond to Shuangshi watershed cultural origins of Taichung City. For the spatial scale of the water supply park, the concept of subtraction design is carried out to reorganize the open space, trying to re-establish the landscape of the water supply park, to renaissance the past style.
The settler of the water supply neighbourhood is derived from the human nature of chasing the riverside, and gradually formed a dense settlement. Since the regime changed in hundred years, and after the World War II, the new population from Mainland China moved in and redefine the composition of the settlement. As the time goes by, historical stories is full of the corner. The water supply settlement not only witnessed the rise and fall of the area, but also become the most Pcomplex urban planning region in Taichung. Uncertain development factors,parties conveted lands, tenants living justice insisted, that the region to maintain a fairly primitive style for decades, as if into the Grand View Garden-like meandering roadway, such as Montage collage of the house facade, its richness is no less than the water supply facilities themselves.
Inseparable water supply and settlement, trying to update the interface from both, re-establish the order of the living unit, in addition to maintaining the existing shuttle space fun, but also the regeneration a new lifestyle, expecting to the organic growth of the settlement to be continued.
