Due to advances in information technologies (IT), the internet can be used as a tool for parents and teachers to monitor their student’s performance at school. It also can be used as a platform for administrators to facilitate data and information exchange easily between different departments in a school. This can not only increase the efficiency of administration processes including decision making, but also increase communication between departments. Ultimately, this will reduce paper work and increase cost effectiveness.
Through reviewing academic literature, surveys and discussing with experts in the IT fields, this paper summarizes the statistical analysis and shows that there are 20 important factors for IT to be successfully applied at school. Those key factors are environmental factors, computer hardware, application of intern, management, budget, human resource and organization at school.
