Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺灣藝術大學 === 舞蹈學系 === 105 === The master thesis study— “Travels re-turn: a Journey of Yang Hsiao Yun” — was conducted by Yang Hsiao Yun of Taiwan National University of Art. Focusing on production process and role interpretation, it looks at author’s achievements both in the fields of professional study and personal life. It retells a transforming journey of her personal growth in different stages of life. Centered upon her own personal experience, the author first embarks on a trip with her as the sole traveler; it then evolves to relay the conversations between her and people in the outside world; it further expands to record a grander journey of a human being traveling under the infinite universe; in the end it rewinds and returns to her inner self. Based on the experience of a real life journey, the story line proceeds and arrives at her final conviction that: one can know what life is about only through walking through it; only the individual who looks forward and remains positive will be rewarded with an abundantly rich and fulfilled life. The performance comprises of five themes: leaving home, turning empty, foreign lands, various impressions, returning home. Presented in the form of writing, the author re-examines the exuberant turnings of her inner emotions and sentiments and the corresponding external physical movements in terms of dancing performance. With her first-hand experience through participating in the performance and being further informed by research studies and literatures in modern dance, performance and role interpretation, the author faithfully records and methodically assesses the entire performance, distills the fine points and realizations, and greatly anticipates further progress both in her personal and professional lives. Delightfully and humbly, she shares these with all who studies and works in this field.
