As the Austrian aesthetist, Eduard Hanslick (1825-1904), emphasizes, music is to be expressive solely by virtue of its form, and not through any extra-musical associations, this paper will apply this idea of his to the study of ” Crash”, a dance theater work, in order to investigate the various aspects of different elements in “Crash” . In addition, this study divides the rehearsal process of the production of ” Crash” into four periods as a self-examination with a view to analyzing the researcher's learning experiences and growth over the rehearsal and the production of “Crash”. Thus, through the dancers' kinetic energy, the interaction of different roles, music and the other elements in “Crash”, the researcher looks into these impacts on her own interpretation of “Crash”. Finally, with charts and graphs, the researcher focuses on the contents of Crash and her interpretation of those roles in the piece to reflect upon the production. The researcher expects not only to develop a better understanding in her dance vocabularies and dance movement in the future, but also to contribute this research as a reference for whom are interested in performing arts.
