Description
Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北科技大學 === 資訊工程系研究所 === 105 === This thesis, referring to the existing TWDM-PON architecture studies the needs of power saving while migrating traditional optical network transmission to next generation optical network. We propose a power saving mechanism on adjusting ONU energy mode and saving the number of transmission channels. The channel assignment adopts Hungarian method. Before each assignment round, OLT calculates the transmission cost for each channel-ONU pair. Proposed scheme chooses the packet with minimum cost and put it into transmission buffer to ensure minimum total cost scheduling for transmission process. Besides, the proposed scheme also considers tuning time for ONU switching to another transmission channel so as to approach a real network. Furthermore, this scheme considers the transmission length of packet among channels to reduce channel idle time and thus improve channel utilization. For evaluating metrics of delay performance and energy saving effect on different assignment methods, this work compared itself with random assignment and round robin assignment. Moreover, for proposed scheme using hungarian method to assign transmission channel, the impact of different transmission strategy between all channels and adaptive channels, i.e. the number of opened channel depends on traffic laod, on packet delay, energy saving effect of ONU and OSU OLT transmitter.
