碩士 === 嘉南藥理大學 === 儒學研究所 === 106 === Abstract "The Standards for Students" is generally considered one of the most significant traditional teaching materials for pre-school learners, which is based on the spirit of Confucianism, inherits the essentials from "The Analects of Confucius," provides detailed and precise guidelines for children to form their manners and behaviors in daily life. The development of children’s words, deeds and personalities can be profoundly influenced by the absorbability and learning from qualified and standard materials of moral education. The paper is to investigate the importance and development of modern moral education, as well as to discuss the wisdom of life and the spirit of morality in "The Standards for Students." Also, the analysis is provided on using "Grandpa Confucius’ School: Plum" as a standard teaching material, which is based on "The Standards for Students," for designing a series of teaching methods, therefore to obtain a further perception of teaching plans for moral education.
