Summary:碩士 === 國立臺北教育大學 === 語文與創作學系碩士班 === 106 === Abstract This article focuses on the American director- Woody Allen's "European Trilogy" as the analyzed subjects, which are 《Vicky Cristina Barcelona》 in 2008, 《Midnight in Paris》 in 2011, and《To Rome With Love》in 2012. The "European trilogy" is different with his previous works. It jumps out the city that Woody Allen normally narrative, so the "London Trilogy" from 2005 to 2007 has high possibility that can be seen as the begining of his attempt on exploring the image of mother culture. From this perspective, "European Trilogy" has the implication of being the successor of the "London Trilogy" and the new attempt of his works,the influences that the coherent culture from Europe to the United States effect the choice of filming country, and the arrangement of story's content is affected by the choice of cities, they both have connections. Therefore, to analyze the purpose of moving the filming locations from the United states to Europe can actually contribute a lot on figuring out the similarity and difference between Europe and United States, and this understanding can be applied on comprehending the attitudes and mechanisms that Americian people have when they look to European culture. Based on this, this article mainly adopts the classification of narratology and divides it into four fields: character, story, environment, and theme. It will analyze the structure and implication of the "European trilogy" one by one, and try to explore the main line of the "European Trilogy" and the tragic elements of its existence.
