One of the most important applications is the intelligent transportation, including Autonomous Vehicle and Internet of Vehicle technologies. However, Taiwan has several development obstacles that need some adjustments to catch up with advanced countries. Therefore, this study aims to explore the factors of development obstacles, future application models, and the future direction of Taiwanese manufacturers. This study used the in-depth interview method and literature review method in the qualitative research method. The method of qualitative research focuses on factual interpretation, so it can be close to the real phenomenon. Because this study was a prospective study, a semi-structured questionnaire was used for interviews. The selected interviewees were experts in three areas: Autonomous Vehicle, Internet of Vehicles and law. This study also includes secondary materials reference, and participation in public events such as professional forums, seminars and presentations to gather the latest knowledge and information in related areas. Our research results point out several Taiwan's development obstacles for this intelligent transportation industry. First, Taiwan currently does not have a strong whole-car industry, so there are some challenges with the integration of a complete system of autonomous vehicle. In addition, Taiwan’s still need more related laws and regulations to support the development and testing of autonomous vehicles, and also the lack of funds and resources invested from the government and enterprises. For applications, the Autonomous Vehicles can be first implemented in a closed area and can be combined into a shared economy model, such as a self-driving taxi fleet, and can also be applied to fleet management in the logistics industry. Also, Taiwan's semiconductor industry is very highly developed, so Taiwanese manufacturers should seriously look into opportunities in the intelligent automotive chip segment and seeking to build a powerful supply chain in this critical area. 林建州 2018 學位論文 ; thesis 80 zh-TW
