Filtration is done through the particulate-removing method. Fiber filter material is commonly used for filtration. The fiber diameter of the fiber filter of current commercial masks is larger and uneven. The filter resistance is higher which decreases filter quality. When fiber diameter gradually approaches the mean free path of gas molecules, the drag force of the fiber surface of gas molecules will decrease. This leads to the slip-flow phenomenon of the fiber surface which allows airflow to travel through the fiber more easily. The fiber resistance is then lowered, raising filter quality. This research sets up the electrospinning system, using polymer with greater molecular weight to increase polymer chain entanglement in the solution. Salts are also added to increase the conductivity of the spinning solution, producing ultra-fiber. This research discusses fiber filter with various diameters, its effect on pressure drop, rate of particle penetration and filter quality, as well as its comparison with the filter material of the commercial N95 filter. Comprehensive Results in penetration and filter quality, the diameter of 53 nm fiber filter is the best filter material. Due to the obvious slip-flow phenomenon of the fiber surface, the fiber filter resistance is low. And the filter quality is better than the N95 filter.
